Sunflowers

posted in: Blog | 4

We have a lovely still life set up each week at Dupont Art Club where I belong. I normally get on with whatever current project I have going but this still life was so colourful and fresh that I had to paint it.

Once painted, I crushed it and bonded it onto textile.

After that, I stitched it with my trusty Bernina machine and by hand. At the end, I repainted some areas and framed it. ‘Sunflowers’ will be going into the Annual Dupont Art Club exhibition next week At Ventnor Hall in Brighton and Hove.

Thanks for sharing. I love the result of this fusion. What type of paper did you use for the first step?

Hi Joanne, I use 30 lb watercolor paper which is thick enough to take the abuse and thin enough to crunch down. Jx
